Who We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of manufacturing intelligence solutions powered by modern data platforms and AI technologies. This is a hands-on role for someone who can operate at both the architectural and implementation level while guiding technical direction and contributing directly to development.
You will work closely with clients to understand operational challenges, design end to end solutions and lead engineering teams in building systems that leverage AI tools, AI agents and agent based workflows to accelerate delivery and insight generation.
Primary Responsibilities- Engage directly with manufacturing stakeholders to understand business processes, production systems and data challenges
- Translate operational needs into scalable technical architectures across data, applications and AI driven workflows
- Design and deliver manufacturing intelligence solutions such as real time monitoring, predictive analytics and optimization systems
- Leverage AI tools, AI agents and agent based workflows to accelerate development and automate complex processes
- Architect and guide data pipelines that integrate MES, ERP, IoT and shop floor systems into unified platforms
- Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and establish best practices for delivery
- Contribute hands on to development across backend services, data pipelines and AI enabled components
- Guide cloud and hybrid architectures that balance on prem manufacturing environments with modern cloud platforms
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with client operational requirements
- Act as a client facing technical lead and trusted advisor throughout delivery
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or solutions architecture
- Experience designing and delivering solutions in manufacturing, industrial or operational environments
- Strong background building distributed systems, data platforms or cloud native applications
- Hands on experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go or C#
- Experience working with manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA, PLC integrations or industrial IoT platforms
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP and hybrid architectures
- Experience applying AI or machine learning in production environments
- Understanding of AI agents, orchestration frameworks or automated workflows, or strong interest in this space
- Ability to balance architecture responsibilities with hands on development
- Strong communication skills with experience working directly with clients
Onsite in Schenectady, New York
Other InformationThe work hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required. Salary dependent upon experience.
