Mgr, Data Engineering and Integration

The Manager, Data Engineering & Integration manages a defined team responsible for delivering data and integration solutions that support business and technology objectives. This role translates established technology strategies, priorities, and architectural direction into team goals, delivery plans, and operational processes.  The position is accountable for team performance and delivery outcomes while ensuring solutions align with established technology, security, and governance standards. Partners across business and technology teams to support operational effectiveness and organizational initiatives.

1.  Data Engineering & Integration Delivery

• Manage the design, development, implementation, and support of data engineering and integration solutions within the assigned area.
• Translate established technology priorities and architecture direction into team work plans, delivery schedules, and technical assignments.
• Improve processes and practices to support reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions.
• Make implementation decisions within approved architecture, and budget parameters.

2.  Governance, Quality & Risk

• Ensure solutions meet governance, security, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Implement and monitor processes that support data quality, lineage, metadata management, and operational performance.
• Identify and address data, integration, and operational risks within the team's scope.

 3.  Team Leadership

• Directly manage a team of data engineers, integration developers, and analysts.
• Provide coaching, performance management, development planning, and day-to-day leadership to support team effectiveness and growth.
• Assess resource needs and allocate staff to projects and fulfill operational requirements.

 4.  Collaboration & Planning

• Partners with business stakeholders, architects, application teams, and analytics groups to support business and technology objectives.
• Provide technical and operational recommendations to technology leadership regarding delivery approaches, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.

5.  Operational Excellence

• Monitor service levels, delivery performance, and operational metrics for the assigned area.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability, efficiency, quality, and
• stakeholder satisfaction.

6.  Other Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned or required to fulfill the purpose of the position.

Qualifications

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Relevant technical or leadership certifications preferred.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, cloud platforms, or related technology discipline.
• Experience leading technical professionals and delivering complex data and integration solutions involving multiple stakeholders and systems.
• Experience applying technology, security, and governance standards.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
• Experience with modern data platforms and cloud technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Agile delivery, service management, or project planning experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of data engineering, integration, APIs, pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and risk management practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and resource management skills.
• Ability to analyze technical and operational issues, recommend solutions, and make decisions within established standards and guidelines.

• None

Wage:   $143,000 - $193,000 annually; actual wage is based upon education and experience. Potential for annual discretionary bonus.
