Job Description
As a valued colleague on our Multifamily Lender Risk Management team, you will contribute with the team to design, test, and implement analyses and controls to monitor the financial strength of Multifamily Lenders, coordinate risk mitigation activities, confirm their compliance with Fannie Mae financial requirements, and collaborate with the team in communicating and collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders. You will also support the orchestration, governance review, and financial analysis required for approving new lenders and evaluating lenders undergoing a change of control (e.g., mergers and acquisitions).

The MF Risk - Risk Analysis - Lead Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Guide team in monitoring and identifying financial risks to a group or the organization.
- Lead and coordinate team activities regarding financial risks across groups.
- Analyze risks and lead discussions to brainstorm solutions. Support team in preparing analyses and reports used for risk monitoring and propose risk mitigation activities, when applicable.
- Lead teams and business groups on risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement plans or decisions to avoid risks or mitigate their impact.
- Lead and support orchestration, governance review processes, and financial analysis associated with approving new lenders and assessing lenders experiencing a change of control (e.g., M&As), including coordinating across stakeholders and ensuring adherence to internal requirements.
- Leads and/or applies expertise to a project / program; span of influence is typically confined to their own team or in limited subject matter
- Anticipates issues that may arise and generally knows how to solve them; regularly able to understand bigger picture
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experience
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Prior risk management experience to include evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risks, etc.
- Prior experience evaluating compliance and recommending changes to improve lender processes.
- Experience identifying measures, or indicators of system or financial performance, and the actions needed to improve or correct performance to achieve desired outcomes
- Strong financial analysis experience; is skilled at reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
- Ability to gather and analyze pertinent, relevant information and identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable and adept at presenting to a broad range of senior people both within their team and outside their team
- Self-starter with strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively towards a common goal.
- Experience supporting governance, approval processes, or due diligence reviews related to lender onboarding or corporate transactions (e.g., mergers and acquisitions).
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate across multiple sources of information, facilitate discussions with internal subject matter experts and external parties, manage timelines and deadlines effectively, and proactively escalate issues to avoid delays in deliverables.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Skilled in Microsoft Applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
- Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
