What you will do:
- Define the vision of the metrics team, how it would accelerate the ADAS/AV stack iteration and contribute to the success of the business
- Define metrics to measure overall ADAS and AD system performance, such as safety, reliability, efficiency. Develop data pipelines to automatically measure, monitor and report performance metrics
- Define metrics to measure sub-system performance for perception, prediction, planning and control subsystems. Use the metrics to measure, guide and accelerate subsystem development
- Lead the metrics team on detailed ML/AI model design, feature engineering, model development and experimentation, and pilot testing with iterative refinement
- Partner with Systems Engineering team, Product team, Simulation team and SW development teams on AV commercial launch readiness review, risk assessment and operation monitoring
- Build and lead the metrics team, foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
Requirements:
- Technical problem formulation: ability to turn a real world challenge into a clearly defined problem statement for the metrics team to solve, identify suitable methods and tools, and demonstrate the effectiveness of solutions
- Analytical Modeling: deep understanding of AI-based system metrics development and performance validation. Expertise in feature selection, exploratory data analysis methods, and advanced statistical techniques, including graphical models, Bayesian inference, neural networks, etc. Conducts statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and clustering to derive insights.
- Code Development and Testing: ability to use SW tools for data mining and solution development and testing
- Data Visualization: expertise in visualizing complex data to facilitate decision making
- Pragmatic and hands-on, able to solve complex problems with minimum resources
- Clear verbal and written communications, able to tailor communications for different audiences, ranging from working level engineers to senior leadership teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Flexibility to work with teams in different time zones
