Our client is operating in industrial piping, engineering, and construction services to upstream Oil & Gas companies in Nigeria. Their key activities include steel and piping fabrication, flowline modification, procurement and engineering, commissioning and start-up, and telecom and electrical installations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking for a Method and Preparation Manager for planning and optimizing work methods to guarantee efficient operational execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of Fabrication and Assembly Methods- Define methodologies for metal structures and piping.
- Create method statements and related procedures.
- Enhance manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Ensure adherence to international standards and regulations (API, ASME, etc.).
- Examine drawings and technical specifications.
- Determine fabrication and installation sequences.
- Estimate resource requirements (materials, equipment, workforce).
- Develop and enforce quality control plans.
- Provide technical support to production and installation teams.
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure adherence to schedules and defined methods.
- Resolve on-site technical issues.
- Deliver regular reports to project management.
- Propose improvements to methods and fabrication tools.
- Implement and monitor performance indicators.
- Contribute to lessons learned and feedback at the project’s conclusion.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education:- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metalwork, Piping, or an equivalent field.
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar role within Oil & Gas projects.
- Extensive background in metal fabrication and piping is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, SolidWorks).
- In-depth understanding of fabrication and assembly processes.
- Project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Rigorous and organized.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Team player with the capability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication skills with various project stakeholders.
- Onshore site work with potential travel.
- Collaboration with multiple teams (engineering, production, quality, HSE).
- Exposure to demanding and challenging environments.
