Aspinal of London are seeking a talented Merchandiser for a 12month maternity cover FTC to start in July this year. This role will involve working to deliver the planned sales and profitability of the brand through effective planning and in-season analysis to support trading decisions. This role is reporting into Merchandising Director.
The role will require attendance at our main Head Office in West Sussex twice per week. Working from home is available the rest of the time.
Opportunity for the role to be 4 or 5 days per week.
Key Duties:
- Working alongside the merchandise manager and assistant merchandiser to ensure the delivery of all KPI’s within our multi-brand concession channels
- Regularly analysing department performances to maximise profit and minimise risk
- Through strategic pl anning and trading actions, intake analysis and regular analytics of Key KPI’s, supports the merchandise manager to make the appropriate decisions on each concession channel to maximise sales
- Developing and building strong relationships with the warehouse, production and graphics teams
- Resolving issues that may arise and working collaboratively with Key stakeholders and other relevant teams to come up with effective solutions
- Seeking opportunities to improve ways of working and systems use to trade more effectively globally, sharing knowledge with the team
- Preparing company trading reports each week
We’d love to meet, someone who..
- Has a proven track record in Merchandising. Must be working at a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser level
- Ideally experience working with concessions, but not essential
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Is a critical thinker, possessing a strong problem-solving mindset
- Strong analytical skills and is able to demonstrate a commercial mindset, using data and insights to leverage opportunities that successfully contribute to the department and wider Aspinal of London strategy
- Is self-driven and if comfortable working independently as well as within a small close-knit team
- Shows strong awareness of current trends, Retail market conditions
- Has strong systems skills, including advanced Excel and relevant trading systems.
- Entrepreneurial – Makes things happen for the business using out-of-the box thinking and a willingness to take risks.
- Someone who is happy to get involved in all demands of the business including helping out in the warehouse, sample sales etc when needed
