MEMS Product Applications Engineer
Job Description:
Analog Devices Inc. is seeking a versatile Product Applications Engineer to join our team. As a product applications engineer, you will be in a unique position to work with leading-edge MEMS technology, along with a diverse customer base, which spans a number of major markets. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the expansion and support of both strategic and broad market opportunities for the product portfolio. This will include working directly with our customers and our field sales team, with particular focus on helping customers recognize and leverage key performance and functional attributes in our Inertial MEMS products. Through that experience, you will be advancing both existing and emerging product documentation, evaluation platforms and other reference designs. As part of your work, you will have regular engagement with our technology team, which has cutting-edge insight and strong experience in the areas of inertial MEMS. This role will also offers the opportunity to participate in the definition new products, platforms and tools that our customers can use, throughout their discovery, evaluation, integration and optimization of our products in their platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and Manage Product Data Sheets, relaying product features, specifications, user guidelines and implementation requirements
- Development of customer focused tools and support collateral required for customer evaluation and design-in advancement
- Interface as the central resource with design, test, product, software and marketing teams to relay new customer application requirements or concerns. This includes direct interaction with field sales/applications as well as customers to resolve specific technical product issues.
- Manage / perform lab analysis and evaluation of new IMUs, gyroscopes and accelerometers.
- Work with a multi-functional team to identify, simulate, and correct functional and parametric problems, which come primarily from customer design and evaluation.
- Manage existing customer facing systems for external dialogue on a portfolio of products; wiki’s, user forums, ‘E-Zone’, Q&A, application articles
- Participate in customer calls and visits
- Provide training to field application engineers and other partners in our sales channel.
- Position requires some travel.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
Skill Set:
- Strong electronic component background (development, applications support, or product engineering of semiconductor or electronic module products).
- Strong personal initiative in defining, investigating and solving difficult technical problems.
- Comfortable in leading technical discussions, including raising new areas of concern with key stakeholders in other development functions.
- Experience performing system evaluation and characterization using bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies and vector signal analyzers.
- Prior experience with MEMS and/or inertial sensors a plus.
- Experience working with mixed signal design tools
- Knowledge of signal processing concepts and digital filter applications (FFTs, FIR filters, etc.)
- Software definition, development, testing and documentation experience helpful.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
