The Role
Develop and optimize real-time Unity XR medical simulations for standalone headsets. Integrate high-fidelity art, implement AI-enhanced scenarios, translate clinical protocols into robust state-machine logic, and add xAPI telemetry for LMS interoperability.
Summary Generated by Built In
At SyncVR Medical, we build immersive technology for places where it truly matters. Our XR platform is used in hospitals across Europe to support patients during care and to help healthcare professionals work more effectively. By combining medical insight with cutting-edge immersive technology, we create solutions that are practical, scalable, and clinically meaningful.
As a growing medtech scale-up, we are continuously expanding how XR can be applied in healthcare, from patient-focused experiences to new solutions that support training, education, and professional development. With a strong presence in 6 countries, SyncVR Medical is shaping the future of immersive technology in healthcare.
Tasks
As an XR Developer within our Education project team, you are responsible for the technical realization of state-of-the-art medical simulations. You will work in a high-performance environment alongside top-tier 3D artists and medical experts to build scalable, AI-enhanced training modules.
Your daily technical tasks:
* Unity Development: Write clean, modular C# code to build interactive medical procedures, ensuring systems are flexible enough to be reused across dozens of different surgical and anesthetic modules.
* Art-to-Engine Integration: Work hand-in-hand with our 3D artists to bridge the gap between high-fidelity assets and engine performance. You’ll be the "engine-master" who ensures the lighting, shaders, and assets look incredible while maintaining a steady FPS on standalone headsets (Quest 3).
* AI Implementation: Proactively research and integrate AI tools to speed up development workflows and create dynamic, non-linear training scenarios.
* Clinical Logic Programming: Translate complex medical protocols into robust state-machine logic, ensuring virtual medical equipment and patient reactions behave exactly as they would in a real Operating Room.
* Data & Interoperability: Implement standards such as xAPI telemetry to track student progress and ensure the modules communicate seamlessly with centralized digital infrastructures and Learning Management Systems (LRS).
Requirements
* Hands-on 3D Development: You have 2–5 years of professional experience building real-time Unity applications and environments, taking ownership from concept through delivery.
* Advanced Unity Expertise: You are highly proficient in Unity and feel confident shipping features, improving existing systems, and solving complex technical challenges.
* Production Team Experience: You have worked in game studios, XR agencies, or industrial simulation companies, and understand what it takes to deliver real-world 3D projects.
* Bonus: Simulation-Driven Work: You have experience creating digital training, serious games, or simulation-based projects where accuracy, usability, and performance are critical.
Benefits
* Build for Impact: Your work will power XR simulations that actually improve patient care and train healthcare professionals. What you create matters.
* Grow Fast: This is a launchpad: grow your skills, take on responsibility, and accelerate toward senior or leadership roles.
* Be Part of Something Meaningful: Join a fast-moving medtech scale-up with real adoption in hospitals across Europe and a mission you can be proud of.
