If so, Pixar's Media Systems team wants to hear from you! Pixar's Systems department offers an exciting internship program designed for students eager to build a career in media systems. The incredible Media Systems team manages the A/V and videoconferencing (VC) infrastructure across the studio, including theaters, screening rooms, recording studios, edit suites, conference rooms, and live event support. This 12-week internship provides hands-on experience and valuable exposure to a studio environment.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and improve a range of media systems including mobile carts, TVs and projectors with multiple sources, and PA systems
- Install and configure media systems throughout the studio as needed
- Provide assistance to engineers on individual tasks and support the AV team's collaborative projects
- Support live events by setting up and breaking down equipment and supporting your fellow teammates
- Perform cable soldering, crimping, and termination
- Maintain well-organized, clean, and stocked AV shops to bolster the team's ability to respond to urgent requests
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with A/V cables and connectors, signal flows, troubleshooting techniques, and a strong curiosity to deepen knowledge in the field
- Detail-oriented with an inclination to learn and dive into technical specifics
- Well-organized, with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks effectively
- Skilled in creating and adhering to your personal task schedule
- Positive attitude and a high level of professionalism in all interactions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Committed to providing end-users with clear guidance and excellent follow-through
- Able to safely lift and move A/V equipment up to 35lbs and work well with others for moving heavier equipment
- Adept in both Mac and Windows operating systems; familiarity with Linux a plus
- Familiarity with basic programming is a plus
Eligibility:
- You must be a junior in college, working towards a degree in a related field, and returning to school in the fall.
- This is a full-time position. You are required to be onsite Mon-Fri from 5.19.25 - 8.8.25.
- Must already possess the legal authorization to work in the US.
