Summary Generated by Built In
Major Tom is the next iteration of digital marketing — a full-service agency that’s been purpose-built to help organizations thrive in an increasingly complex landscape. With headquarters in Vancouver and Toronto you can find us on Meets during either Pacific or Eastern Daylight Time.

Who We Are:
We’re a group of people who create work we’re proud of for folks we believe in. Our team is made up of industry specialists covering the spectrum of media, marketing, web, and creative.

We all share a belief that passion and accountability are critical to delivering exceptional work. Our biggest heroes bring humility, an open mind, and a positive attitude to our team every single day. An informal — yet professional — group, we truly care about one another and you can bet that we’ll care about you, too. For more on our culture, check us out on Glassdoor, Facebook, and Instagram.
What We’re Looking For
The must-haves:
  • Channel Ownership & Campaign Build: Own the end-to-end build, configuration, and launch of paid media campaigns — structuring accounts, setting targeting and budget allocations, building custom audiences and tracking events, and integrating third-party data sources — directly within Google Ads, Paid Social (e.g. Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok), and programmatic platforms (DV360, Vistar Media, Magnite).

  • Media Planning & Buying: Action on the agreed-upon strategy — flight dates, targeting, and budget allocation across the channels you own, and execute the buy hands-on in-platform, keeping the client aligned on your approach and any changes along the way.

  • Campaign Management: Manage campaign delivery day-to-day: monitor pacing, troubleshoot technical issues, and make dynamic adjustments to budgets, bids, creative, and copy to maintain performance.

  • Optimization & QA: Analyze performance to identify and implement actionable improvements, and conduct rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) to verify every campaign is built and configured correctly.

  • Reporting: Participate in performance calls, answering questions in real time, and turning campaign data into clear reports, business reviews, and annual planning roadmaps.

  • Insights & Research: Conduct market, audience, and competitor research that sharpens media plans and account audits.

  • Internal Leadership: Lead low- to mid-complexity projects, working with cross-functional teams to translate strategy into an implementation plan.

Nice-to-Haves (not deal-breakers, but assets):
  • Agency experience (internship or otherwise)
  • Education in marketing communications or business administration
  • Vendor relations and communications experience

Who We're Looking For:
We're looking for a Media Strategist with 3+ years of experience who's ready to own a channel end to end — from planning and platform build through daily optimization and reporting. You'll run the full lifecycle for standard campaigns at low-to-mid complexity clients: building the plan, launching campaigns directly in-platform, managing budgets and bids day to day, and reporting on results, while collaborating with senior team members on larger initiatives.

The ideal person is hands-on in paid advertising platforms every day, comfortable making fast, informed calls on budget and targeting, and confident walking clients and internal teams through what's happening in their accounts and why. If you're organized, detail-oriented, and energized by owning a channel from build to result, you're exactly who we need to drive execution here at Major Tom.
Benefits
  • Paid time off and bonus time off during the holiday season to spend time with your loved ones without thinking about work.
  • Flexible working hours and work-from-home options. You know how and when you work best, and we trust you to do it.
  • Comprehensive medical benefits, including a healthcare spending account, so you can take care of yourself and your family.
  • A wellness program including a health account credit (e.g., gym membership, exercise classes).
  • Regular Lunch and Learns covering a vast array of topics all designed to keep you informed on the industry and our agency.
  • Access to internal committees led by subject matter experts that are designed to tackle plans or solve problems. These committees ensure that everyone within our agency has the opportunity to learn about the different facets of our organization. Are you a project manager fascinated by work in the creative department? No problem, sign up and see how it’s done.

Skills Required

  • 3+ years of experience in paid media, digital advertising, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience building and managing campaigns in Google Ads, paid social, and programmatic platforms
  • Ability to own campaign planning, launch, optimization, budget and bid management, and reporting
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance and make informed targeting, budget, creative, and copy adjustments
  • Strong client communication and presentation skills
  • Agency experience
  • Education in marketing communications or business administration
  • Vendor relations and communications experience
