Mechanical Test Technician

What Will You Do?

• Assemble prototype test machinery/equipment and conduct performance tests. 
• Compile test data and put together simple pre/post-test inspection reports. 
• Organize and schedule multiple tests in collaboration with R&D engineers. 
• Maintain test equipment, tools, instrumentation as needed/per schedule. 
• Ensure proper inventory is maintained of consumables and commonly used test components. 
• Assist in miscellaneous engineering/test projects as necessary. 
• Travel to other company sites or customer facilities to help with testing/demos etc. 
• Drive a culture of “safety-first” within the R&D laboratory facilities 
• Physical requirements of the role include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally; climbing ladders and working at heights as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

• 2 year Associates Degree preferred (preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering). 
• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience working as a test or lab technician, machinist or related role. 
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. 
• Familiarity with pump and compressor systems. 
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics principles (pressure, flow, etc.). 
• Experience with refrigeration system testing and troubleshooting. 
• Knowledge of refrigeration system design and operations. 
• Understanding of industry standards for refrigeration systems. 
• Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, product specifications and other technical documents. 
• The ability to machine simple parts on a lathe or mill is a plus. 
• Familiarity with pumps, turbomachinery and high pressure fluid equipment is a plus. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, managing multiple tasks to achieve significant goals. 
• Position requires occasional travel (5%).
