Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking talented Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineers (Experienced or Senior) to join our team on a new program in Albuquerque, NM developing and testing advanced concepts for the Department of Defense. This position will include work in mechanical design for optical systems, thermal analyses, structural analyses, and integration of subsystems. The ideal candidate will have experience with SolidWorks, NX, or other CAD software and Finite Element Analysis.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including experienced and senior level engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems to meet system requirements
- Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
- Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs to provide design documentation and high-level requirements
- Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
- Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
- Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 5+ years of experience have with computer aided design (CAD) tools for the design of mechanical components/assemblies
- 5+ years of experience working with finite element models/simulations using one or more of the following: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Optistruct
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 9+ years of experience have with computer aided design (CAD) tools for the design of mechanical components/assemblies
- Level 4: 9+ years of experience working with finite element models/simulations using one or more of the following: PATRAN, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Optistruct
- Level 4: 9+ years of experience with structural design or the design of mechanical sub-systems or components
- Experience with optical mount design
- Knowledge of optical equipment including telescopes, detectors, and imaging systems

Summary pay range for experienced (level 3): $103,700 - $140,300
Summary pay range for senior (level 4): $126,650 - $171,350
