Join the unique world of Support Equipment for Derivative Aircraft, where you’ll have the opportunity to lead through all stages of program lifecycles, solve important challenges, and work with many different functions to ensure customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead, manage and oversee a team of engineers performing E-7, VC-25B, KC-46, and P-8 Support Equipment design, verification, procurement, calibration, supplier technical direction, and delivery at domestic and international customer locations. This role is very well suited to candidates seeking task diversity and a mechanical problem-solving perspective.

This mid-level manager will lead a team of systems, mechanical design, and logistics engineers performing Support Equipment (SE) design, development and/or testing/qualification. The SE manager will forecast and manage staffing and budgets, mentor and grow staff capability and capacity, and work with other managers in multiple locations to determine priorities for delivery execution in a challenging demand and supply environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, listen, advocate for, and motivate a diverse team of employees.
  • Ensure team critical skills are managed, to include knowledge transfer plans, talent management, and knowledge management plans.
  • Utilize engineering knowledge to provide technical direction, oversight, and guidance regarding approved processes, plans, tools, technology and skills.
  • Utilize strong business acumen to “run your business”, including managing business plan, organizational goal alignment, and budget and staffing forecasts.
  • Establish, track and manage metrics and goals for cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction utilizing One-BPS and the Boeing Problem Solving Model.
  • Effectively communicate with team, senior leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Lead process documentation and improvement projects to achieve business goals and drive first time quality.
  • Perform efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging, diverse work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Higher
  • 10+ years of experience working in a professional technical environment
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) repair/maintenance or maintain and operate fuel distribution systems
  • 1+ years of experience as a CAM (cost account manager) in EVM (earned value management)
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers

Summary pay range: $161,500 – $218,500
