Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Product Engineering Intern, you will join the Plant Testing & Product Engineering Department and support mechanical product engineering activities across product launch, industrialisation and serial production.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the analysis of technical drawings, engineering specifications, product requirements and 3D models;
- Assisting with product design reviews, engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Supporting the maintenance of Bills of Material, product structures and engineering documentation;
- Participating in product tear-down, disassembly and material analysis activities;
- Collecting, organising and analysing technical data to support product validation and failure investigations;
- Supporting root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities;
- Assisting in the review of test results and identification of potential product or material failures;
- Supporting product recovery, remanufacturing and reprocessing assessments;
- Collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Laboratory and Electrical Engineering teams;
- Contributing to technical documentation, lessons learned and knowledge-sharing activities.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field;
- Able to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications and product requirements;
- Familiar with CAD and 3D engineering tools;
- Interested in product development, industrialisation, validation and manufacturing;
- Analytical, detail-oriented and motivated to solve technical problems;
- Interested in materials, failure analysis and root cause investigation;
- Comfortable working with technical data and preparing clear analyses;
- Organised, proactive and able to manage different priorities;
- A strong team player with good communication skills;
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary and international environments;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, or GD&T;
- Familiarity with Bills of Material, ERP systems or product-data management tools;
- Basic understanding of product validation methodologies and engineering change processes;
- Knowledge of material properties and common failure mechanisms, such as fracture, wear, corrosion or degradation.
