The Mechanical Product Engineer will develop, design, verification conformance and transition standard and value added products, as well as provide future advanced technological input to drive the specification, design, and technical documentation. Based out of Franklin, WI, the Mechanical Product Engineer performs mechanical design product development activities, analysis, and resolution of engineering problems. The Mechanical Product Engineer also functions as a reviewer and provides input to other mechanical engineers to successfully complete design of drives and other value add products from concept design to mass production.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical design of Drives using CAD tools- Creo & SolidWorks
- Create, revise and review part drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Perform advanced thermal analysis to provide efficient cooling solutions during the product development phase.
- Perform structural and vibration simulations during the product development phase.
- Provide technical input and project planning for value added products.
- Assist in product design reviews with engineering, service and training for valuable feedback on design issues and enhancement.
- Create technical specifications for value added products (enclosures, panels, power options, etc.) for automation equipment.
- Create schematics, BOMs and technical documentation for defining the value added product designs and functionality.
- Collaborate with parent company on issues of product certification and design.
- Collaborate with project management between 3rd party service providers and vendors.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-3 years of design experience
- Experience in creating 3D models and 2D drawings (Creo & SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience using FEA and CFD simulation software preferred.
- Experience in performing thermal and structural analysis preferred.
- Must have an aptitude for mechanical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable design standards, and acceptable manufacturing practices.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and customers.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to interpret and create schematics, generate BOMs and test plans, and operate required test equipment.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting and project planning abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Copilot applications, particularly Power Automate and Power BI, and AI tools is highly desirable.
