About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineering Technologist, you'll play a key role in supporting the engineering and manufacturing operations at our Wilmington facility. Working closely with engineers, designers, and production teams, you'll help develop practical mechanical solutions that ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and manufacturability.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute throughout the engineering process—from creating technical documentation and supporting product development to troubleshooting challenges and improving manufacturing processes. If you enjoy solving technical problems and seeing your work come to life on the manufacturing floor, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop and implement mechanical systems and components.
  • Conduct testing, analyze results, and prepare technical reports to verify quality and performance standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, models, and engineering documentation.
  • Support the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and products.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure engineering designs and processes comply with applicable industry standards and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product quality and production efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering processes and customer outcomes.
  • Support new product development and manufacturing projects as required.

What You Need (Required Qualifications)

Education

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or in a similar engineering support role.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, product development, or mechanical system implementation.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Certifications / Licenses

  • None required.

Other Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Wilmington, North Carolina.

What Would Be Considered an Asset (Nice-to-Have Qualifications)

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with product development or prototype design.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing software systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands-on problem-solving.

  • Build strong working relationships with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Consistently produce accurate technical drawings, documentation, and engineering support materials.
  • Help resolve technical challenges quickly while contributing to improvements in product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Contribute to successful product development and engineering initiatives that support customer success.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and help strengthen collaboration between engineering and manufacturing.

Our starting annual total compensation package—including base salary and performance incentives—ranges from $45,000 to $65,000 USD, depending on experience.
