The Engineering Intern will assist professional engineers with technical tasks, design projects, data analysis, and documentation to gain hands-on industry experience. They will work under supervision to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
Duties:
- Responsible for Mechanical CAD design and documentation of systems for multiple jobs
- Design misc parts that will go into workstations
- Work with team members to help support custom designs
- Work with team members to come up with processes for control of workflow
- Maintain documentation associated within a project including engineering change notices, bills of materials, detailed CAD models and associated component drawings
- Create and maintain part numbers and BOM’s in IPG’s ERP system
- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects with supervision
- You must be a student currently enrolled in a program related to our business operations at an accredited college or university.
- Experience with 3D design such as Solidworks or equivalent.
- Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles to design components and mechanisms
- Experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required for interaction within group, with customers, R&D, and international colleagues
