As Mechanical Engineer, you will play a significant role in developing and implementing engineering plans and strategy for a high-growth deep-tech company in stealth mode. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in integrating complex systems and a strong background in thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics. Background in nuclear energy is highly preferred, but not required.
ResponsibilitiesDesign: Lead the design and development of the company's product components to meet safety and performance standards.
Component Integration: Ensure seamless integration of various components of the product.
Materials Selection: Select appropriate materials and components to optimize strength, weight, and durability of the product.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure product design complies with safety regulations and standards, conducting necessary safety tests.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to achieve efficient and innovative component design while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Education: Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years of industry practice.
CAD Proficiency: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Material Science and Solid Mechanics: Strong understanding of materials science, with focus on heat and radiation shielding, as well as engine design (including battery-powered motors, turbines, and Stirling engines).
Testing and Prototyping: Experience in planning and conducting component testing and prototyping.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for technical challenges.
Communication: Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Work Authorization: US Permanent Resident or US Citizen
$80,000 - $500,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
