Job SummaryA Mechanical Engineer with manufacturing experience is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and processes in a manufacturing environment. Their primary focus is on optimizing the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing mechanical systems, components, and tools for manufacturing processes.
- Conducting research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and maintenance, to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Performing risk assessments and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical problems during production.
- Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify designs.
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis for new product development or process optimization.
- Collaborating with suppliers to select and procure appropriate materials, equipment, and components for manufacturing processes.
- Implementing and overseeing quality control measures to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through the application of lean principles and other methodologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
- 2-5 years of experience working in engineering
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
- Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
