We are seeking an innovative Mechanical Engineer with strong mechatronics background to join our Robotic R&D Team. The ideal candidate will bridge mechanical design with electronic systems integration while driving project development from concept to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology while developing innovative solutions in a dynamic R&D environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Take on mechanical design and development of complex electro-mechanical systems
* Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software for manufacturing and assembly
* Develop prototypes and conduct testing/validation procedures
* Collaborate with electrical and software engineers on integrated solutions
* Develop solutions from initial conceptual direction with minimal guidance
* Support research staff by implementing hardware changes
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
* 5+ years experience in mechanical design with focus on mechatronics
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software with SolidWorks
* Experience with actuators, sensors, and control systems
* Ability to work in a rapid R&D environment
* Ability to take abstract ideas and convert them into practical engineering solutions
* Will need to be in the San Francisco office 5 days a week
*Able to work with high autonomy
Bonus Skills:
* Experience with 3d printing prototyping
* Experience with Machine shop and safety practices
* Knowledge of industrial automation and robotics
* Familiarity with PLCs and microcontrollers
* Familiarity with GD&T
* Experience understanding and making electrical diagrams
* A understanding of some common coding languages like C++ and python
* Soldering skills
* Experience in wire / cable manufacturing.
Salary Range: $100,000-115,000
