The Mechanical Engineer II is a mid‑level, engineering role responsible for the design and detailing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in vacuum systems and related industrial applications. This position applies mechanical engineering principles to support the development of products such as vacuum chambers, sub‑assemblies, integrated systems, robots, and machines. The Mechanical Engineer II may support activities across fabrication, operation, installation, application, and repair of mechanical products. This role requires sound engineering judgment, hands‑on design experience, and the ability to work with some independence under the direction of an experienced Engineer or Supervisor. Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail mechanical components used in company product lines while following established engineering procedures
- Modify and create mechanical designs for new and existing products
- Work within defined project budgets and timelines
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in the corporate ERP system
- Interface with Sales and Product Management to understand customer and project requirements
- Collaborate with the internal machine shop to support cost‑effective manufacturing solutions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience
- Strong 3D CAD experience
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T principles
- Experience with Solid Edge or other mid‑range 3D modeling software
- Experience designing vacuum systems or related mechanical equipment
