OVERVIEW: 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer I - NPD to join our team. This role will help us build a new generation of innovative products for the Ninja brand. We thrive on designing and manufacturing great products that delight our customers. Working as part of our team, you will bring inspiration, creativity, and technical substance to deliver credible product solutions.   

Role Functions: 

  • Drives and/or collaborates on ideation, prototyping, and testing (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues.  
  • Takes direction on concept development through ideation, CAD execution, prototyping, and validation, whilst consistently working at pace.  
  • Continuously improves upon concepts as we test and validate prototypes with consumers.  
  • Applies sound engineering standards to deliver real solutions.  
  • Research and empathizes with the consumer needs/trends to become a category expert  
  • Builds on understanding & experience of rapid prototyping techniques from shop skills to 3D printing.  
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues.  
  • Supports other team members and encourages their efforts. 

Requirements: 

  • Degree level technical qualification, ideally Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering.  
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in Mechanical/ Product Design/ Industrial Design environment.  
  • Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable  
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and shop skills is desirable  
  • Experience of delivering real world products to market desirable  
  • Uses Solidworks, Creo, or Rhino (or relevant 3D package) to a proficient level.  
  • Identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions as part of a team.  
  • “Hands-on” - building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting.  
  • Flexible and collaborative- these are key to success at SharkNinja.  
  • Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature.
