Role Overview
Responsible for mechanical execution and manufacturability of ZiGGY. Owns structural design, packaging, enclosures, thermal integration, serviceability, and production-ready mechanical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own mechanical DFM/DFA across all ZiGGY systems
- Design frames, chassis, enclosures, mounts, doors, and panels
- Package batteries, power electronics, charger, cooling systems, and cabling
- Optimize designs for cost, tolerance, yield, and assembly
- Interface directly with fabricators and contract manufacturers
- Produce drawings, BOMs, tolerances, and ECOs
- Support builds, field feedback, and corrective actions
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong experience with sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, assemblies
- Advanced CAD skills
- Experience working directly with manufacturers
- Comfort owning designs that ship and operate in the field
- Robotics, automotive, and/or aerospace experience preferred
