We're looking for a skilled and proactive Mechnical / Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. You'll play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of our manufacturing equipment, facilities, and support systems. Working within a fast-paced production environment, you'll use your electrical and mechanical expertise to minimise downtime, drive continuous improvement, and support a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant services.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults efficiently.
  • Support production teams by responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising downtime.
  • Use the CMMS maintenance system to record work, manage maintenance activities, and improve asset reliability.
  • Maintain plant facilities and ancillary services to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Contribute to and support preventative maintenance programmes, helping create a best-in-class maintenance environment.
  • Champion safe working practices and ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, including IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Support engineering projects, installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, fault reports, and project documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and site teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Operate workshop equipment including lathes and milling machines, or be willing to develop these skills.
  • Flexibly support the business through overtime and shift coverage when required.

QualificationsQualifications & ExperienceEssential
  • Completed a recognised Mechanical/Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Knowledge of engineering regulations and safe working practices.
  • Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high standards of work.
Desirable
  • HNC/ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Experience with AC and DC drives.
  • Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge, particularly Siemens systems.
  • Experience with project engineering activities.
  • Competence using workshop machinery such as lathes and milling machines to manufacture components and tooling.

Working Pattern
  • Shift-based role - Days 6am to 6pm continental shifts

Skills Required

  • Recognized Mechanical/Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • At least 5 years of electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
