Position Summary:
 
The primary focus of the Designer is to assist engineers in developing flow diagrams and detailed fabrication and assembly drawings. Our Designers work closely with our Lead Designers, Project Engineers and fabrication to satisfy customer requirements and resolve design problems from the initial design to the final release of drawing.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed fabrication and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks.
  • Provide details on component descriptions.
  • Assist engineers to resolve design problems during fabrication and equipment installation.
  • Calculate dimensions and weights as determined or instructed.
  • Compare costs versus designs to determine the most cost-effective way to manufacture the equipment.
  • Create an electronic BOM to be used for purchasing, fabrication and installation.
  • Create, release and revise drawings electronically.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proficient with 2D and 3D design using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to carry oneself in a professional manner, maintain positive interactions with co-workers, customers and vendors and have an upbeat, can-do attitude.

Skills Required

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proficient with 2D and 3D design using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
