We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of automated manufacturing and general assembly systems. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, problem-solving, and collaboration within fast-paced industrial and automation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems, tooling, and automation equipment for manufacturing and assembly applications
Create detailed 3D models, layouts, assemblies, and production drawings using Siemens NX
Develop concepts and prototypes for testing, validation, and customer review
Perform engineering calculations and tolerance analysis to support design integrity and functionality
Apply GD&T principles and manufacturing best practices throughout the design process
Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and project engineering teams to ensure successful project execution
Support equipment integration, troubleshooting, and implementation during build and launch phases
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors on fabricated components and purchased equipment
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision records throughout the project lifecycle
Assist in managing project timing, technical requirements, and overall deliverables to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered
Approximately 10 years of mechanical design experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or assembly systems
Strong proficiency with Siemens NX (preferred)
Solid understanding of GD&T, machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
Experience designing automated equipment, tooling, fixtures, or general assembly systems
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Experience
Automotive manufacturing experience, preferably supporting OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
Experience with general assembly systems, robotics integration, conveyors, tooling, or custom automation equipment
Familiarity with launch environments and production support within manufacturing facilities
