We are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of talented professionals and right now we are seeking to recruit a motivated and talented Mechanical Design Engineer.


In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical elements for a range of electronic and electrical test equipment. You will take ownership of mechanical design activities from concept through to release, ensuring solutions meet technical, cost, quality, and safety requirements. You will also provide ongoing production support, contribute to product transfers, and play an active role in continuous improvement and new system introductions such as PLM.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead mechanical design activities on assigned projects from concept through to release,
  • Translate product requirements into clear and robust mechanical design specifications.
  • Produce 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks (or equivalent).
  • Support production teams post-release, including troubleshooting and design improvements.
  • Support transfer of new products to the Dover site and contribute to PLM system implementation.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications


  • Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering (or equivalent experience); professional membership desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role, with a proven track record of delivering design solutions to specification, cost, and timescale.
  • Experience of overhead electrical lines and line monitoring systems is preferred.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, including concept development through to production release.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) with the ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and BOMs.
  • Strong understanding of DFMA, electromechanical assemblies, and manufacturing processes (plastics, sheet metal, machined parts).
  • Knowledge of mechanical standards, material selection, and design compliance (including BS EN 61010 and EMC principles).

Skills Required
