Primary Responsibilities
- To provide a professional engineering & maintenance support through the application of appropriate expertise, knowledge and experience.
- To focus on the reliability of the plant through planned and reactive (breakdown) activities of yourself and other maintenance personnel.
- Have a good understanding of fault-finding methodology.
- Ensure improvements are made with regards to reliability.
- Participate in RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) of issues
- Support, mentor and provide guidance to the apprentice maintenance personnel.
- Work towards understand all Mechanical Principles and a good understanding of Process control.
- A good grasp and understanding of mechanical workings.
- Work safely and have a good understanding of all EHS requirements and contractor control.
- Ensure you work in a safe manner and comply with all polices.
- To engage in projects/activities as required.
- To assist in improving Plant and equipment “up-time”
- Coach and mentor apprentices and others as required.
- Responsibility for all aspects of maintenance (Planned Maintenance/Corrective Maintenance/Reactive Maintenance/etc).
- To be able to review and critically analyze engineering drawings.
- To have a high competency of IT usage i.e. Microsoft Word and internal systems.
- To be capable of working with contractors and on-site personnel.
- Attention to detail.
- To be able to work within a team or on your own.
- Support area maintenance teams with issues and breakdowns.
- Proactive approach and be self-motivated to achieve goals and targets.
- Have a knowledge of hydraulics/drive systems/etc
- Mechanical time served apprenticeship to minimum of NVQ level 3.
- Experience or a strong desire to work within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
- Prior experience within an industrial setting is essential.
- Ability to work with others (at all levels of the organization) and have a positive “can do” attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical knowledge within the areas of heavy engineering and fast paced production environments.
- Ability to analyze technically complex problems and develop the most appropriate solutions.
- Prior experience within a heavy industrial industry process/operation is desirable.
