Mechanical Automation R&D Engineer

Job Duties: Lead research and development projects to enhance manufacturing processes and automation technologies. Gather requirements, analyze problems, and propose viable engineering solutions. Design, develop, and implement innovative automation solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. Lead design, development, and implementation of computer control systems and algorithms for electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field plus 6 months’ experience with pneumatics and hydraulics or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field plus five years’ experience with pneumatics and hydraulics. Experience must also include at least 6 months in each of the following: CFD and FEA; C, C++, C#, Python; Robotic system design and programming; Machine design; PLC and HMI programming; Controls design; Machine vision system design; Thermoplastic process development and R&D; Thermoplastic Composite part design; Electrical design and development (high and low voltage system); Electrical control cabinet wiring; Software development for in-house machines and cells controls; and Scientific computation.
Job location: Commerce City, CO
Pay rate: $121,264 per year
