The MEAL Assistant plays a vital role in strengthening the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework across EMF’s programs. This position ensures that program activities are systematically tracked against established indicators, community feedback is effectively captured and acted upon, and lessons learned are documented and shared to drive continuous improvement. By supporting data collection, field monitoring, and feedback mechanisms, the MEAL Assistant helps maintain program accountability, transparency, and impact. The role requires close collaboration with program teams to ensure data integrity, timely reporting, and the integration of learning into program implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Support data collection for monitoring activities using standardized MEAL tools and checklists
- Assist in conducting post-distribution monitoring and program monitoring field visits
- Support the operation of the community feedback and complaints mechanism, including logging, categorizing, and timely referral of feedback
- Assist in data entry, cleaning, and quality assurance for program indicators
- Support the planning and facilitation of learning sessions, after-action reviews, and documentation of key lessons learned
- Assist in compiling monitoring reports and indicator tracking tables for program teams
- Support training of field staff and community volunteers on MEAL tools, data collection procedures, and feedback mechanisms
