Job Summary

  • Seeking a senior Systems Engineer to join an exciting mission centered around providing visualization and presentation services for the prototyping, development, and production of analytic tools
  • The team is responsible for reverse engineering 40 databases to create a universal model database so that data can be sorted, found, and analyzed efficiently
  • This role is key to the successful migration of business data from legacy systems to a new platform

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze user needs and system requirements to develop functional and technical specifications
  • Participate in system trade studies, feasibility analyses, and technology evaluations
  • Elicit, document, and refine system and functional requirements
  • Ensure requirements traceability from definition through testing and validation
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to verify requirements meet mission and operational needs
  • Assist in creating and executing system test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system defects and performance issues
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, program managers, and customer stakeholders
  • Participate in technical reviews, design meetings, and engineering working groups
  • Provide engineering support for system upgrades, enhancements, and sustainment activities
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system specifications, and configuration management artifacts
  • Ensure system designs comply with applicable technical, security, and operational standards (e.g., DoD, RMF, STIGs)
  • Support audits, technical evaluations, and readiness reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (with Maryland customer)
  • 20 Years' experience with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering (or related field) or 25 years without the degree
  • Experience with database design and modeling
  • Experience utilizing SQL within relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, Postgres)
  • Experience reverse engineering systems in both front-end and back-end capacities
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization, data normalization and cleansing, and data security

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle
  • Knowledge of existing BM&A systems

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
