The Opportunity 

We're seeking a dynamic and growth-minded individual to join us in the role of Staff Accountant. You'll play a key role in our team, collaborating closely with other incredible  and talented individuals. You'll contribute to a collaborative, innovative environment and be part of our mission to enable, accelerate, and empower our partners at Momentum companies, allowing them to deliver best-in-class solutions for their customers. The ideal candidate for this position will have a well-rounded accounting background and have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.  This position will be a valuable partner in the full cycle of accounting including building close business relationships with client team members to ensure accurate billing / collections, recording of journal entries, and overseeing accounts payable process.  This role will have high visibility working cross collaboratively with our media and client services teams as well as our external clients. In addition, this role will help guide and implement future tools and products to continue to improve the speed and efficiency of the accounting organization.

About This Role at Momentum

As a Staff Accountant at Momentum, your days will be dynamic and filled with opportunities to contribute to our mission. Here's a glimpse into what your overall responsibilities might look like:

• Partner with client services team, media channel owners, and external media partners to improve the billing and collections process
• Work with controller, finance, and business operations team members to continuously improve accounting processes
• Continue to support and work directly with external audit
• Support the business with special projects including but not limited to technology implementations and assessing reporting impact of accounting standard changes
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual results to senior management
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Work with finance and business operations for accurate reporting and reconciling of transactions

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who:

Holds a Bachelor's degree ideally in accounting or a related field.

• 2+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or consulting
• CPA License is preferred
• Demonstrates a proven track record of success in teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple business functions
• Has a demonstrated history of [finding new solutions to challenges by leveraging creativity and critical thinking].
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Has the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Excels in communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
• Shows strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of advanced formulas and functions preferred
• Demonstrates focus, attention to detail and the ability to concentrate on highly repetitive tasks in distracting environments where accuracy is crucial
• Can handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity and remaining agile.

The base salary range for this position may vary based on location. Actual compensation will be determined by role, level, and location, considering additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. For roles eligible for remote work, the base salary is tailored to the designated work location. In addition to the base salary, candidates may be eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus, determined based on both the company's business performance and individual contributions. The People & Culture team will provide specific details during the hiring process.
