Position summary:
Primary responsibilities for Mazak CNC Programmer/Operator/Machinist is to manufacture parts per supplied blueprints working independently to design and make tooling, fixtures, set-up, program, and operate (using Mazatrol) various types of machines for production of piece parts and tooling.
Reports to: Machine Shop Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Interprets and follows drawings, travelers, specified requirements, procedures, instructions and other applicable documentation.
- Develop procedures, instructions and other required documentation for new parts per supplied drawings.
- Program, set-up and operate various Machine shop CNC machines and other equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Design and make fixtures, jigs, tools, soft vise jaws, shop aids.
- Uses various measuring and inspection tools and equipment for piece part inspection, compliance, accuracy verification.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Will produce piece parts and tooling as needed.
- Meets or exceeds productivity, quality and safety standards.
- Participates with co-workers in job skill transfer.
- Performs maintenance to machines and equipment in Machine shop as required.
- Performs other functions such as moving parts/material, loading/unloading, sweeping, cleaning and other as needed.
Qualifications and skills:
- Knowledge in Mazatrol or Win Max programming (required).
- Experience with Mazak Integrex machines.
- Ability to write and communicate in English.
- Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge in GD&T.
- Good understanding of measuring tools commonly used in the machining industry (i.e. Calipers, Micrometers, CMM, etc.).
- Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
- Ability to ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
- Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Ability to work with oils, degreasers, and other tools of the trade.
Skills Required
- Knowledge in Mazatrol or WinMax programming
- Experience with Mazak Integrex machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge in GD&T
- Good understanding of measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, CMM)
- Ability to write and communicate in English
