Job Responsibilities:
Supervise packaging, materials & logistics planning operation: Packaging Design, Procurement and Repair process /On hand material determination/Call Offs / Parts Tracking / Claims Management / Logistics Network Planning / Transport Call Offs / Freight Invoices / Customs. Assist in program planning and launch phases. Manage operations staff. Ensure continuous improvement after launch.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES• Determine logistics, material and packaging strategy and parts plan • Develop a process map of logistics, material, and packaging activities as part of the overall supply chain business model • Develop and implementation of standards • Provide data/input for presentations on quotation of new projects through calculations or estimates that include but are not limited to space, resources, equipment, packaging, and logistics. • Calculation and tracking associated costs • Issuing of purchase orders • Change management • Bill of Material (BOM) Management • Issue documentation for production according to the defined standards and customer requirements • Coordinate packaging procurement, design, testing process, testing, and packaging suppliers • Support IT with detailed process information to ensure systems/software development • Test operations system and provide feedback to software developer • Ensure proper training documentation to coach transportation/materials/packaging staff • Manage and keep track of own timeline and activities together with other Supply Chain Managers • Keep track of own budget • Work closely together with packaging design / program management consultants/ freight forwarder / 3PL • Key responsibility is overall accuracy of inventory and the coordination of the logistics / material / packaging design and procurement, launch and operation • Lead team and conduct cycle counts as needed • Support / resolve supplier quality initiatives• Minimal traveling required
YOUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• 7 - 10 years of related work• Proven track of material and packaging experience at an OEM / Automotive Supplier / Freight Forwarder / Packaging Companies / Head of materials organization• Experience implementing SAP system and demonstrated SAP production experience• Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)• Leadership - experience in working within a project team environment and a very good team player• Effective written, visual, and oral communication• Highly efficient/knowledgeable in MS Excel• Capable of interfacing with corporate staff, vendors, customers, and employees• Provide supervision of and give direction to material handlers• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
