Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Materials and Transportation Manager to support the ArgonST team in Smithfield, PA!
This onsite position will provide oversight and leadership to individual contributors supporting Material Planning, Material expediting/kitting and Tool Control across multiple sites for the ArgonST business unit. This role involves complex data/trend analysis, problem resolution, strategic planning, scheduling and project execution, customer and government property management. You will coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, logistics/supply chain, procurement, production, quality, and program management) to resolve material shortages, delivery risks, and priority changes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages and integrates employees' activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

- Works with urgency and makes decisions weighing business goals and employee needs
- Perform Cont
- rol Account Manager (CAM) functions including material/cost accountability support, traceability verification, and maintaining audit-ready records
- Oversees Material requirements planning and data inputs driving the MRP system to maintain customer and government contractual requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
- 3+ years of experience working in manufacturing or manufacturing support
- 1+ years of training or experience using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to work any shift assigned
- Ability to work over weekends and holidays as needed
- Experience with the following (or similar industry) systems: Costpoint & Enablon
- Microsoft applications Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Teams etc.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience with the following (or similar industry) systems TipWeb
- 3+ years of Materials Management or Supply Chain experience
- Previous experience as manager or team lead
- 3+ years formal/informal leadership experience
- Experience with safety and quality processes
- Self-motivated, works well independently
- Experience with material requirement planning systems
- Knowledge of government property requirements
- Knowledge of material management accounting systems requirements
