Magna is seeking an MP&L Area Leader to support material planning, inventory management, production scheduling, and supplier relationships to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining efficient inventory levels and uninterrupted production operations.
What You'll DoCoordinate production schedules, releases, and forecasts with suppliers and internal teams
Monitor inventory levels and proactively address supply chain risks that could impact production or customer deliveries
Analyze material demand and consumption trends to support production requirements
Work closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support customer requirements
Manage supplier relationships, delivery performance, and material availability
Maintain ERP, MRP, and EDI systems to support planning and inventory accuracy
Support continuous improvement initiatives involving inventory management, Kanban systems, and supply chain optimization
Lead and support material planning, inventory analysis, and logistics operations
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in program planning, scheduling, logistics, or supply chain operations in the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of inventory management, Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, JIT, and logistics operations
Experience using ERP, MRP/MPS, EDI, and other supply chain management systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
APICS certification is a plus
Experience with continuous improvement, Kanban systems, FIFO, PFEP, or Kaizen activities is preferred

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree and/or 6 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Kanban, JIT and logistics for high volume manufacturing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience maintaining WMS and Kanban functionality in ERP systems
- Strong skills in Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
- Strong analytical skills and detailed data management
- RFID knowledge in implementation and operation
- Experience supervising material handlers, cycle counters and logistics clerks
- Experience with mobile equipment (forklifts, tuggers, AMRs) and ability to act as hostler driver as needed
- Ability to resolve technical AMR mission issues and optimize AMR routes
- Experience leading pull implementations and Kanban sizing between supermarkets and shop floor
- Conducting cycle counts, annual inventory counts, and material flow/plant layout analysis
- Ability to develop team members through coaching and mentoring and apply progressive discipline
- APICS certification
- High experience with FIFO, PFEP, kaizen and other continuous improvement practices
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting up to 55 lbs
