As part of our ongoing pursuit of excellence, we will be kicking off a significant Transformation Project to introduce S/4HANA, and as such we have created several positions to support this enterprise project (Project Nexus)

Role Purpose:

The Master Data Management Architect leads master data projects to enable the Global Master Data team deliver superior business experience.

In addition, the Global Master Data Project Manager design, develop, maintain and continuously optimizes the master data cross-domain technical program, ensuring a common, efficient and agile Lonza master data management.


This is a global role that supports all businesses and sites globally. The interaction and communication with stakeholders from different departments (Finance, Supply Chain, QA, IT) is prerequisite for this position.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-impact ERP transformation project with exposure to cutting-edge SAP technologies. The role is critical to ensuring that the organization leverages S/4HANA to drive business value and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute the Global Master Data team activities in global Lonza projects, such as integrations, carve-outs or mergers.
  • Lead Global Master Data team internal initiatives across domains.
  • Capture business requirements, translate into data requirements and design master data management solution.
  • Run efficient and flexible Master Data extraction, transformation and load processes.
  • Challenge master data management solutions and leads innovative improvements.
  • Design and implement technical solutions for data reporting, data analytics, data visualization and data quality management.
  • Perform risk assessment, testing and validation of data management technical solutions
  • Train the master data community on master data management solutions.

Key requirements:

  • You have experience on SAP ERP or SAP S4/HANA.
  • You have experience in supply chain or operations processes.
  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, business information technology or business administration, logistics or supply chain.
  • You have experience in data management and data analytics.
  • You are fluent in English. German and any additional language will be an appreciated asset.
  • You are interested in being a reliable team member in a multi-cultural environment.
  • You have good communication, presentations skills
