What You'll Do
The opportunity is big, and so is the role. Your leadership will drive the marketing strategy, and your experience launching products will be critical to our success. As a member of the Executive Team, the Vice President of Marketing reports directly to the CEO and has primary responsibility for leading marketing efforts, providing strategic direction, and launching new products to achieve aggressive growth plans.
- Establish a road map for the successful execution of Munchkin's long range strategic marketing plans.
- Lead a team of highly motivated, talented individuals to set the strategic direction for the company and use consumer insights to fill the product pipeline with breakthrough innovation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product Development and lead the development of a strategic plan that establishes an innovation process that allows for the continuous development of new products and categories for the company.
- Partner with ecommerce by leveraging digital channels to reach consumers and drive sales.
- Work with Sales for sell-in strategy, retailer placement, and channel management across launches.
- Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Think outside the box to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans, including innovative campaign concepts, media planning, online direct marketing and trade programs, to support sales and revenue objectives.
- Act as a brand advocate internally and externally.
- Execute brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive brand experience across all audience touchpoints.
- Expand and grow new strategic categories thru new product launches. Identify and facilitate possible new categories or products.
- Monitor competitive products and marketing activities by categories and key retailers.
- Play an important role in product naming in conjunction, review and clearance with outside trademark council.
- Participate in key sales meetings with specialty, mass and e-commerce channels.
- Conduct marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provide feedback for future product development.
- Achieve satisfactory product margins and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Guide preparation of marketing activity reports and present to executive team.
- Manage and influence a global team; including a team of 10 in the US.
Bring It!
- MBA or equivalent; with 15-20 years of related marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A background in the food, retail or consumer package goods industry is a strong plus.
- Must have a broad set of marketing skills which will include brand management, strategic insights, innovation, and product experience.
- Ability to think like a general manager taking into consideration all of the functional implications when making decisions around Munchkin's strategic growth initiatives
- Experience at developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics in competitive markets and managing a P&L and an A team.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and with key internal Executive and external stakeholders.
- Must be creative, resourceful and decisive with strong problem-solving and team/consensus building skills, able to manage multiple projects, meet/exceed deadlines and expectations, and adjust quickly and effectively to change and challenges.
- Strong communication skills and ability to make effective, persuasive presentations to all levels of management and external stakeholders.

Salary range: $250,000-$300,000
