Were searching for a Sr. Marketing Strategist to be responsible for leading the creation and execution of strategic marketing plans in support of Childrens Physicians strategic business priorities and strategic goals. This role is responsible for managing the marketing activities for the organizations owned primary care and urgent care practices, raising awareness that Childrens is the very best choice for pediatric care in the market. Must have expertise in reaching target audiences using a vast array of marketing channels, including traditional paid media (print, outdoor, broadcast) and paid digital/social. This role develops and manages marketing campaigns across multiple marketing channels, planning and executing marketing strategies to build brand awareness and patient volumes. Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Writes clearly, concisely, creatively and accurately with minimal editing. Meets project deadlines. Responsible for recommending and managing Childrens Physicians/Childrens Urgent Care marketing budget.

Essential Functions

  • Makes data-driven decisions to advance Childrens Physicians/Childrens Urgent Care strategic goals.
  • Interpret strategic, business and market research data and draw conclusions and formulate recommendations to assist in the development of strategic initiatives, business planning and promotion of primary care and urgent care services to improve the organizations competitive and financial position.
  • Apply business expertise to identify problems/opportunities, determine solutions and measure results.
  • Analyze and evaluate the success of marketing initiatives and develop any needed changes.
  • Develop successful relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and lead internal and external marketing strategy, using a full array of communication and marketing vehicles including printed materials, electronic, web-based, digital and social media. Identify areas of additional opportunity, evaluate the success of these strategic endeavors and develop needed changes.
  • Monitor patient volumes, actively look for opportunities to increase patient visits in key demographics and maximize patient volumes. Analyze efforts and develop needed changes.
  • Address escalated questions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide project management on projects, as well as training, support and quality assurance when needed
  • Develop marketing budget for Childrens Physicians and Childrens Urgent Care. Monitor and prepare variance reports for executives. Monitor the cost of projects and work assignments and ensure they remain within allocated budget.
  • Develops and edits content for internal and external communication audiences
  • Identify need for and oversee production of communication pieces for physician, employee, community and patient/family audiences, as well as for conferences, meetings and other events.
  • Coordinate the planning, writing, design, production and distribution of marketing materials with graphic artist, web strategist, Strategic Communications, design agency, printers and other vendors. Recommend and manage vendors.
  • Develop and manage website strategy and content.
  • Ensure marketing/communication materials meet quality standards, adhere to format requirements, comply with customer or organization specifications and are delivered on schedule and within budget restraints.
  • Coordinate distribution lists, relay call center information and reports, postal requirements and payments
  • Collaborate with marketing team to determine organization-wide digital media strategy.
  • Manage community outreach strategy
  • Determine if/how events help achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Plan and lead community events (e.g., educational classes, seminars, baby fairs, recognition events, community days, school involvement, etc). Analyze and evaluate each event to determine overall objective achievement and make needed changes.
  • Recruit speakers, volunteers and staffing needs; coordinate presentations and refreshments, create and disseminate all communication/marketing materials for events.
  • Serve on internal and external committees as a representative of marketing (e.g., customer service, patient satisfaction, employee giving, etc.).
  • Provide strategic advice, support and developmental services for strategic and operational goals related to team productivity, culture enhancement, patient satisfaction and other management-related issues.
  • Meet regularly with executives to discuss marketing challenges and needs.
  • Facilitate and lead problem-solving, data gathering and/or planning teams involved with organization-wide initiatives.
  • Develop and present accurate reports, presentations and documents by utilizing various PC skills, public speaking skills, software applications and health care knowledge to assist in communicating information to various segments of the organization.
  • Present finding of analyses and specific strategic and operational issues as requested. Develop needed changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending seminars.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be a self-starter with excellent managerial, critical thinking and budgeting, as well as oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing effective multimedia marketing programs using print, audio and/or web-based tactics. Develops and implements programs while meeting deadlines and budget guidelines.
  • Must have ability to take complex/broad concepts and goals and translate them into specific objectives and work plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand clinical and technical information and accurately translate it into audience-appropriate content.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, creatively and accurately with minimal editing. Knowledge of writing feature articles, promotional copy, video scripts, speeches and news releases required.
  • Excellent photography skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of effective web communication strategies and tactics, as well as web content management and editing tools.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members to accomplish common goals / projects.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, public relations, marketing or related degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing, public relations/advertising agency or corporate marketing department, including previous project management and strategic communication experience required, preferably in a health care or hospital setting


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Accreditation or membership in a professional organization such as the Public Relations society of America (PRSA), International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (SHMPR), preferred.


SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Evening and weekend work is often required
