Role Description

Dropbox is looking for a creative Social Media Manager to lead the creation of social-first content for our brand channels. You are passionate about the power of social media, innovations in the tech industry, and brand storytelling that provides value, entertains, and connects with our audiences. You love brainstorming new ideas for social content, producing eye-catching visuals and videos, and have an understanding of what types of creative performs best on social channels. From setting strategy to crafting messaging, you know how to articulate your ideas and write compelling social copy to tell a story. You’ll leverage social listening insights to make informed decisions around relevant cultural moments.

 

While you’ll have ownership over your work, you’ll also be supported by internal and external resources to bring your ideas to life. This includes the Dropbox social media team, a social media agency, and a full slate of cross-functional teams at Dropbox (such as Brand and Influencer Partnerships, Brand Studio, Editorial Content, Product Marketing and Integrated Marketing). You’ll also be offered opportunities to grow into other areas of social media, such as managing evergreen social campaigns, overseeing brand partnership projects, and strategizing social activities for product launches.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in social and creating content for a brand. You’re looking to grow in your career and eager to make a true impact on Dropbox’s social media presence through thoughtful storytelling and captivating visuals. This role will report to the Senior Social Media Manager, and be a part of Dropbox’s Communications Team. We may request samples of your previous social media content for consideration.

 Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm and develop new social content ideas
  • Create and produce share-worthy social content in a variety of mediums such as gifs, images, or short-form videos.  When necessary, this content can be made with the support of in-house creative resources or agency partners
  • Establish social strategy that optimizes content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and/or emerging platforms
  • Perform community management and monitor reactions to social content, taking into consideration social media trends and cultural moments
  • Partner with internal and external teams to strategize social media campaigns in alignment with company goals
  • Help manage our social editorial calendar and write content that will engage, grow and educate our community
  • Provide occasional social media support at events or launches
  • Assist with tracking and analyzing campaign results, build social recap reports, and present key findings to internal and external teams

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in social media for a brand or an agency
  • Familiarity in using editing and graphic design tools to create content for social channels
  • Excellent writing skills and an understanding of how copy + visuals work together on social
  • Willingness to embody Dropbox’s brand voice and tone
  • Knowledge of how paid and organic social content works together
  • Avid user of social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, with solid understanding of current and new features, different layouts, algorithm changes, and/or formats
  • Ability to analyze metrics and use social data to drive decision making
  • Passion for social media, cultural news, and tech trends
  • Comfortable working in a Virtual First environment
