Summary
Responsible for implementing Northwestern Mutual Search Engine Optimization (SEO) organic search marketing strategies as defined by an SEO roadmap. This position will manage search-related projects, make SEO recommendations, and report on organic search performance. The SEO Analyst will work with content, engineering and marketing teams to implement best-in-class SEO.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Using defined SEO tools, monitor organic rankings, perform keyword audits, research to advise on related content strategy, optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities (gap analysis).
  • Partner with content teams during content development to provide recommendations and execute strategies in coordination with SEO goals - general and keyword specific. Write meta data, make internal linking recommendations.
  • Review copy and approve web content prior to publication in order to ensure we are using the best SEO strategies and practices.
  • Monitor defined SEO tools to identify technical SEO issues and work with Martech/engineering teams to solution.
  • Support NM local search marketing initiatives managing Google Search Console updates and requests and working with field website teams to implement local search strategy.
  • Coordinate off-page link building campaigns in coordination with SEO goals and co-manage budget for linking initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal partners and agencies to monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance to goals.
  • Keep pace with SEO and digital marketing industry trends and developments.


Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEM/SEO)
  • Willingness to continuously learn and monitor changes in the landscape
  • Knowledge and experience with common SEO tools such as: Brightedge/Conductor/SEOClarity, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Moz.com and SEMRush.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS (not coding level)
  • Solid ability to think creatively, and identify and resolve problems
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere
  • Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and points
  • High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse and dynamic team
