About the role
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven and collaborative Senior Manager, Web Strategy to join our team, on a mission to reach prospects and customers and serve them delightful experiences. This is an opportunity to lead a global web strategy for a growing startup. You’ll lead a cohesive web strategy that drives success metrics for www.starburst.io and other Starburst web properties.
From a tactical perspective, this role oversees web strategy, web development, search engine optimization (SEO) and user experience for all Starburst web properties. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can partner with stakeholders across Starburst, working to understand our business objectives, identify the strategic roadmap, and lead the team in implementing and measuring solutions.
This is a high visibility role that requires strong collaboration skills, creativity, and domain expertise to make a significant impact in a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Drive overall vision for Starburst web properties, defining, delivering, and owning objectives and key results.
- Leverage your breadth of experience to drive growth across Starburst’s portfolio and engage with cross-functional teams to execute your vision.
- Utilize strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to develop and execute a conversion rate optimization strategy focused on driving MQLs.
- Leverage A/B testing and personalization strategies to help drive better engagement on the website and experiences for our customers.
- Create a web roadmap, containing both proactive and reactive strategies and tactics.
- Lead a small but mighty team, consisting of a web developer and an SEO strategist.
- Maintain a pulse on web activity by creating reporting benchmarks and dashboards, build in-depth reports on site performance, and effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
- Understand web architecture and make recommendations on improvements to optimize for both the user experience and performance.
- Lead development of our SEO strategies: both in identifying quarterly focuses and executing to increase our rank.
- Hire and manage external vendors, as needed, such as design agencies or SEO writers.
- Partner with paid marketing, ABM, and campaign marketing managers to ensure a strong end-to-end experience for our prospects.
Requirements:
- Proven Web Strategy experience working with a high traffic and complex website.
- Business mindset: Passion for testing and learning. it’s marketing – it’s okay to fail if we learn from it!
- Analytical: Data is core to our culture, and we love diving into the numbers. What does success look like? You know what to measure, how to measure, and distill data into insights from experiments. Strong data-driven approach and tenacity for problem solving.
- Technical proficiency: Ability to articulate website requirements, and to set standards for site health and page performance. Proficiency with Wordpress, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SEMrush (or equivalent SEO technology).
- Strategic: You think beyond the short-term tactics and one-off projects to how we can build processes and programs that scale.
- Partner First: You build strong relationships across teams by listening and following through on your commitments. You understand we can go further, together, if everyone is working toward the same goal. You have the ability to articulate strategy, empower, and partner closely with cross-functional teams, being able to artfully manage stakeholder expectations.
