The Category Program Manager is a full-time position supporting marketing programming for the Culinary department which includes Prepared Foods, Bakery, and Specialty. This team member will work in close partnership with category merchants and internal marketing teams to define, execute and measure programs and related category marketing initiatives and promotions. This team member must be a meticulous executer, managing multiple projects within a fast-paced environment, while also serving as a strategic thought leader. It will be imperative that this team member have strong business acumen, sound customer understanding and possess strong knowledge of retail marketing.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and execution of marketing programs for assigned categories
  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with merchandising and internal marketing teams
  • Define and communicate category program objectives, strategies, requirements, and updates to key stakeholder groups
  • Partner with internal channel and creative teams to ensure program marketing plans deliver on aligned to objectives and strategies
  • Ensure accuracy across all promotion and category marketing deliverables and assets
  • Work closely with analytic teams to measure program efficacy and report out to key stakeholders
  • Support the execution of other related promotion and category marketing efforts for assigned categories
  • Support strategic planning efforts by mining and analyzing customer insights and internal and external data sources
  • Demonstrate agility and the ability to prioritize and multitask across various projects and workstreams
  • Be an expert on the competitive landscape and identify implications to the business
  • Serve as a steward and champion for Culinary efforts with internal and external teams
  • Support other projects, as assigned

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant marketing experience at a well-established retailer, CPG or top-tier company with experience supporting marketing in collaboration with retailers and/or product teams
  • Strong business acumen and a proven track record delivering business results through high impact marketing programs
  • Analytic with a demonstrated ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into insights
  • Expertise in customer-facing communication with an eye for good creative
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Genuine passion for Whole Foods Market, our core values and culture
  • Passionate about assigned categories
  • BA/BS required
  • Requires travel approximately 10-15%, as needed
