Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in a consulting/business analyst role in fields related to music and technology.
  • Analytical/coding experience with analysis and data visualization (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Python).



Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to translate complex data sets into simple communications and balance deep analytics with actionable insights.
  • Excellent coding and statistical skills (C, R packages, Python) and frequent usage/management of large, complex data sets.
  • Passion for the online music industry, digital media, and technology.



About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As a Music Analytics and Strategy Manager, your responsibilities are to uncover and understand the issues facing the Global Music industry and YouTube users then work with cross-functional teams to find solutions, transform our business, and bring intelligence into our analytics products.

You will work with our Product, Engineering, and UX analytics team to build YouTube Analytics roadmap, design Go-to-Market plans and growth strategies to make our tools better.

You will also work closely with the Music Marketing team to help us position other priority products (e.g., YouTube Shorts, YouTube Live, etc.), craft value propositions with product marketing managers. and help them define growth strategies.

You will work and influence executive leadership to shape our strategy and help show YouTube's value to artists and the music industry.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $136,000 bonus equity benefits.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic roadmap, Go-To-Market moments, and growth strategies for our suite of Analytics products and other artist tools.
  • Solve and turn problems into compelling insights we can share internally and externally (e.g., build dashboards, data visualization, insight reports).
  • Build proof points to better communicate YouTube's value to the industry.
  • Support product development, solidify the value proposition of our priority products, and help the team prioritize to improve the platform for artists and their teams.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders and executives from the Music team (e.g., product, engineering, partnership).
