Media Buyer
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Media Manager to join the team in Boston, MA. The Media Manager needs to have and maintain an eye for detail, deadlines, have an aptitude for analysis, and be able to work within the linear video team as well as a solo project contributor. You will be asked to multitask correctly and efficiently while meeting time-sensitive deadlines. You’ll work within the in-house media team and speak directly to the media community on behalf of Chewy.
As a linear TV channel expert, you’ll plan, buy and optimize a group of networks and programs to meet Company assigned KPIs, and pull audience research as needed. You’ll manage TV budgets to performance and handle invoice discrepancies while assisting the media analysts. Our software infrastructure has you working hands-on with iSpot, Core, Nielsen. You should be comfortable speaking to and negotiating with the media community, keeping up to date on the latest media trends and innovations, and identifying ‘out of the box’ media solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, buy, optimize against a selection group of networks and stations. Confirm clearance, unit separation and equal creative rotation
- Evaluate and determine effectiveness of rotation schedules for media spot placements with assigned stations and uses her independent judgement in to pricing to maximize the effectiveness of the TV schedule
- Plan, negotiate spot placement and rotation to optimize your own group of stations through evaluation of most profitable and cost-efficient combinations
- Assist in the invoice process by working with stations’ accounting departments to correct inaccurate invoices
- Analyze historical data to be compared against current proposals, and deliver input on upfront proposals and deliver recommendations
- Pull data, analyze results, and have recommendations on optimizing budget to KPIs and compile reports as needed
- Manage and monitor media to ensure proper execution of the agreement
- Own the relationship and be the point person for and place orders with assigned stations
What You’ll Need:
- Prior history planning, buying, and optimizing performance based linear TV
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic understanding of contracts and purchase agreements
- Experience with MS Office including Excel
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- A strong, positive, and proactive attitude
- Ability to problem solve and seek out help when needed
- Position may require travel
