Marketing Strategist - Remote
Responsibilities
As a Marketing Strategist you'll provide strategic marketing to key external and internal audiences for the Retirement and Income Solutions business unit and across the enterprise. You'll assist with developing innovative and meaningful engagement strategies to help plan sponsors confidently manage and feel informed about administering the plan, while elevating the Principal® brand as a trusted leader for retirement expertise.
You'll help expand the reach and impact of recurring plan sponsor touch points, such as newsletters and webinars, to engage and activate target audiences. You'll leverage customer insights, provide research-based customer points of view and strategic marketing guidance to the business and assist in influencing and briefing leaders and decision makers at all levels.
Other kinds of things you'll do include:
- Work cross-functionally with teams to build compelling, researched based points of view and campaigns to drive awareness and support for the retirement business and Principal brand.
- Cultivate a solid understanding and application of customer insights, metrics, target market research, marketing, and competitive trends.
- Develop trusted business partner relationships through providing strategic marketing consultation and go-to-market strategies to solve for client and business needs.
- Track, analyze and communicate results. Use results analysis to improve future outcomes.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 4+ years of related work experience.
- Experience helping to building strategic marketing programs that deliver strong results.
- Knowledge of the marketing profession and modern marketing strategies.
- Ability to translate data analytics into implications.
- Ability to understand complex technical information to create appealing and concise narratives.
- Solid strategic and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to influence to bring stakeholders together to deliver a consistent message.
- General understanding across the entire customer journey with Principal
- As well as an understanding of the competition and market opportunities and customer experience
- Some travel required, including overnight stays
Preferred skills:
- General understanding of Principal business, products and industry along with understanding or experience with identified audience.
- Financial Services experience.
- Understanding of how marketing automation tools work to execute marketing campaigns.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$73100 - $142800 / year

Work Environments
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You'll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
