Shelf Engine is searching  for a talented Director of Communications to join our growing marketing team and  report directly to our Head of Marketing. In this role you will work with multiple teams across functions to develop and execute an omni-channel communications and marketing strategy. Key objectives in this role are to help Shelf Engine improve its brand awareness and increase demand for its solutions. You’ll accomplish this by refining the language we use to communicate our business impact, values, and culture to internal and external stakeholders. As a Director of Communications at Shelf Engine, you will:

  • Embrace our company principles through inclusive, authentically kind, and empathetic interactions with our team and our customers
  • Shape stories that resonate with key partners including retailers, food manufacturers, climate conscious consumers, media, influencers, social followers, and teammates
  • Lead a team in the planning, production, and execution of a centralized communication calendar, including PR activities, across all internal and external channels
  • Stay current on Shelf Engine customers’ needs, market trends, and competitive activity and share insights with cross-functional teams to optimize product, campaign, and company messaging and inform content development for all marketing channels including digital marketing
  • Drive the strategy and execution of external comms campaigns and activities (e.g. recruiting, thought leadership, and brand building campaigns)
  • Build and lead creative, integrated PR programs in close coordination with teams across Shelf Engine
  • Foster and maintain strong media relationships and pitch PR opportunities
  • Drive asset creation to support campaigns with Sr. Copywriter, Art Director, and vendors
  • Develop and support employee comms efforts across Shelf Engine
  • Create external visibility programs and thought leadership platforms for leaders
  • Prepare leaders for media interviews and speaking opportunities

And we think you would make a great Director of Communications if:

  • You have 8-10 years experience with public relations, communications, branding, and marketing in high technology industries
  • You have experience working in media relations, with demonstrated success of securing earned media opportunities in a B2B context
  • You are highly organized and capable of managing multiple complex workstreams at once
  • You have a bachelor's degree or higher level of education
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
