Physicians Mutual is hiring for a full time Direct Marketing Data Analyst in our Direct Marketing Group. The selected candidate will serve as an analyst of customer and policy data coming from internal and external sources. Possesses expert knowledge with the Campaign Management tool (Protagona) and data integration tools (Abilitec, Solviture4) as well as query tools (BRIO, SQL, SPSS, SAS, Focus and others). Works closely with Business Information System and Marketing personnel to identify and implement software solutions. Provides training and consultation to Marketing personnel regarding data usage and analysis. Manages data vendor relationships to ensure quality. Participates in Direct Marketing Group initiatives and Corporate projects.

Job Qualifications:

• College degree with emphasis in Management Information Systems, Business, Marketing, Systems Analysis, Finance or equivalent experience and training is required.
• Approximately 4-5 years experience working with database querying tools and statistical analysis is required.
• Previous project management experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work under loose supervision while exercising independent and thorough decision making skills.
• Mathematical competency/aptitude, understanding of spreadsheets, budget process, statistical modeling and ability to analyze statistics.
• Strong project management techniques and an ability to work with individuals or groups to define, discuss and resolve problems in an effort to attain objectives.
• Expert knowledge of data warehousing and data access needed to efficiently troubleshoot problems.
• Must understand both the technical aspect and the user requirements in an effort to deliver the best solution.
• Experienced with Database Query tools and data integration tools (Abilitec, Solviture4, SAS, BRIO, SQL, SPSS, etc.).
• Need to understand the GUI front end as well as the base programming language to fully understand how the system works and the capabilities of the system.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel from vendors, BIS, Segment teams, Actuary and Marketing.
• General knowledge of insurance practices, financial reporting and Company information in order to recommend logical initiatives.
• Strong application of time management and organizational techniques enabling work on several projects simultaneously.
• Well-developed verbal/written communication skills and ability to present information in a logical format for others.
• Attention to detail and concern for achieving goals.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and follow-through on projects to meet established standards and deadlines.
• Ability to resolve daily issues and problems with an objective, solutions-oriented, creative approach.
