The Customer Experience (CX) & Design team is a multi-disciplinary department comprising brand & marketing design, product design, design operations and CX design. Our mission is to create experiences that inspire small businesses to deliver the most value to their customers. We work cross functionally with just about every team across the business from marketing to product to culture to deliver a unified customer experience and make things feel like Mailchimp.

We are looking for a Design Program Manager to join our Design Operations team in support of the Campaign creative group within the Brand & Marketing Design team (aka our in-house Creative Agency). This role will help lead creative campaign efforts by organizing the team, guiding scope and quality against the Marketing Campaigns calendar. They will be the main interface between Campaign Management, Brand Marketing, Media and the creative teams, helping align and shepherd across these groups through process, relationships, approvals, and production. This role co-facilitates planning, execution and launch of campaign creative in partnership with Marketing and Creative campaign team leads. You are part program manager, part account manager.

This role will work closely with internal and external producers, creatives and writers, helping establish cross-functional process and drive performance to meet strategic goals and objectives. 

What you’ll do here: 

  • Be a strategic thought partner to creative campaign leadership to help gain buy-in for creative ideas by building trusting relationships with Marketing leaders using your process and partnership superpowers
  • Implement systems for campaign creative development process and management, project status reporting in the context of Marketing needs
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing leadership to optimize department and cross-functional program processes
  • Communicate and document process, programs, change management and operations to the creative and marketing teams for continual improvement 
  • Optimize and support resource tracking and creative tooling infrastructure
  • Lead cross functional conversations and generate alignment across partners and stakeholders as it relates to production planning and execution for strategic initiatives and campaigns and the associated deliverables, timelines, risks and budgets.
  • Lead weekly operations activities required to ensure leadership visibility and alignment with campaign deliverables.
  • Partner with Sr. Design program managers to improve infrastructure and processes.
  • Cultivate, facilitate, and maintain strong relationships with outside creative partners, including production companies, illustrators, animators, fabricators, photographers, videographers, casting and talent agents and reps.
  • Be a creative problem solver who encourages creatives, calms and coaches partners, bringing folks along the creative journey, all the while seamlessly navigating ambiguity and adversity when needed.

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Extensive creative operations management experience, account management in an agency environment is a plus
  • A passion for working with Marketing partners to help teams generate award-winning creative work that delivers results
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge and ability to multitask and pivot quickly.
  • Experience being a face of creative production to external vendors and key internal stakeholders and a working knowledge of industry production contracts and the ability to negotiate terms independently and seek guidance from legal when necessary.
  • Proficiency in G Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack, Confluence, Workfront (as well as other project management tracking tools). 
  • A strong understanding of design thinking, project management and design production processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
