THE PURPOSE:

In this role you will be responsible for leading the execution of our organic traffic strategy to article content on Slickdeals. You will work closely with the SEO team to create new content that can increase search traffic from Google, using a team of freelance writers and editors. You will also analyze performance and make recommendations on actions to take based on what the numbers show. Success in this role will be measured based on ability to improve search rankings and increase traffic coming from search to Slickdeals over time.

 

THE ROLE:

  • Meet weekly with the SEO team to plan for new content as well as evaluate what content that needs to be updated and/or optimized
  • Commission and edit SEO-rich content from freelance writers that meets Slickdeals editorial standards
  • Coordinate SEO content creation across verticals to ensure we win in multiple categories
  • Collaborate on SEO strategy to hit publishing’s KPIs and own reporting for your work
  • Owning audits for all editorial content, including updating or redirecting low-performing articles.
  • Conduct keyword research as needed and coordinate with the SEO team to ensure we're using best practices for all facets of SEO
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Detailed-oriented editor with a passion for deals, online shopping and e-commerce
  • Track record of increasing organic traffic for other websites
  • Excellent writing, editing and organizational skills
  • Experience managing a group of freelancers
  • Team player who enjoys collaborating

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ years in digital media editing content
  • Track record in successfully hitting KPIs
  • Ability to collaborate and project manage across multiple teams
  • Experience with SEO tools, specifically Ahrefs, SEMRush, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
